Open Educational Resources for the CO-CIVIC Project
As part of the EU-funded project CO-CIVIC – Co-Creating Civic Education for Youth in Alternative Learning Environments, a comprehensive collection of Open Educational Resources (OER) has been developed to support both civil society organisations and providers of vocational education and training (VET). The project aims to empower young people who are currently learning in VET-contexts to actively participate in society—through project-based learning, grounded in both formal and nonformal methods of education.
All resources are freely available and can be adapted to various educational and training contexts.
Resources for Civil Society Organisations
These materials support civil society actors and VET providers in to better and more frequently collaborate, and so improve their work with young people, promoting personal development, civic awareness, and active engagement in community life.
Resources for Providers of Vocational Education and Training
The following tools are designed for trainers, educators, and VET professionals working in alternative or inclusive learning environments.
Student Materials
Interactive activities, creative exercises, and real-life scenarios that engage learners with social issues and strengthen their social, cultural, and democratic competencies.
Learning Content
Structured modules covering topics such as diversity, participation, environmental awareness, and social awareness. These learning units promote critical thinking, teamwork, and the ability to co-create one’s own environment and future.
Skill Self-Assessment Method for Teachers
This exercise allows VET teachers to assess their skills and competencies required for implementing cooperative Project-Based Learning activities in collaboration with Civil Society Organizations.
Online Accelerator
Here you will find information on social entrepreneurship, the program guidelines of the online accelerator, and a guide for vocational schools on how the co-civic approach can support students in founding financially sustainable social initiatives and companies.
CO-CIVIC fosters creative learning processes, encourages democratic participation, and promotes inclusive, future-oriented education. All materials are licensed as Open Educational Resources (OER) – free to use, adapt, and share.
